Wairarapa Computers In Homes

Kia Ora Everyone,                                                                                                                                               Its the last lot of CIH classes for 2014 also SUP classes it has been one busy Term 4. We have had 5 CIH classes a week this time around 3 in Masterton,1 in Featherston and the other in Dannevirke so we will graduate 35 for term 4 plus we will certificate 12 people for SUP who have done at least 4 or more modules. What my people do after their CIH classes is they just turn over to SUP after their graduation which is really good. These 2 are discussing how to do what they are learning. Michael Whitelock and Annette Peters are having a discussion on how to do what they have to do by reading their sheet. These 2 photo's are both from Douglas Park School. These 2 lovely ladies are concentrating on doing the Spreadsheet part which is part of their learning by doing up a finance sheet for themselves.

We had 17 people graduate at Huia Range School in Dannevirke on Monday 25th August. Again it was a wonderful occasion and it was great to talk with the families who were graduating and hear about their learning Journey. a big thank you to Danielle Beets-Tai for tutoring the course and to the Principal Robyn Forsyth for her support. It is exciting that we have big enrolments for Stepping Up programmes so watch this space! (Peter)

Kia ora Koutou, This Term has been quite a busy one especially after Term 2 but hey thats what this program is all about. I would like to welcome on board for this program Masterton Christian Childcare Centre to go along side all our other schools.  They are a fantastic place with people who really fit the target group. The classes there are going very well. Martha

Okay Term 2 finished done and dusted beautifully with a lot of happy customers taking home their computers 1st graduation was done at Douglas Park School with their whanau, teachers and Principle and also they signed for up Stepping Up straight away.                                                                                         This class is concentrating very hard on what they are learning from their lovely tutor Lisa Gray This lovely gentleman doing the presentation of the certificate is the lovely Principle of Douglas Park School  This lovely lady was very proud of herself of what she had learnt she did know quite a bit about how to use computers but she also new their was other things she needed to learn on safety, and how to control your children on the computer. This lovely lady gave us the honour of her presence by doing our presentation for the 2nd graduation which was held at Lakeview School - Ikaroa - Rawhiti Labour MP Mek

Kia Ora everyone, What a busy 2nd term we having everything happening with our new schools on board. We now have LAKEVIEW SCHOOL,  MASTERTON PRIMARY,  DOUGLAS PARK, KURA KAUPAPA, CHANEL & MAKOURA COLLEGE, KO TE AROHA, WAHI REKA KOHANGA REO. We run classes from one college and a primary school and the other 2 classes at our training centre. We have two morning classes an afternoon and an evening for our CIH program. Our numbers are looking good at this moment. Would like to welcome Dannevirke  on board for CIH program who will be working beside us here in the Wairarapa.

For our New year once again I would like to welcome on board two new schools for Computers in Homes they are Chanel College and Douglas Park so this will be a pretty busy year.

Well its a New Year again 2014 just a reflect back on our last graduation Term 4 2013 we graduated 6 people. It was held at REAP House we had our students plus a couple of guests our new Mayoress Lyn Patterson plus our MP John Hayes it was awesome our Mayoress spoke then one of our students got up to finish it off. The last NCCG for CIH conference for 2013 was held in Masterton, it was absolutely awesome. We had our dinner at REAP House with entertainment from our Samoan Community. It was lovely then the next day to finish our conference off we surprised them by taking them somewhere. The Wairarapa is well known for a Shearing Shed where we had lunch and also shown how to pick up the wool after the shearer finishes then thrown on a table and shown how to take out the unnecessary bits. Laurence had a go while Di shore a sheep it was really awesome. Now for Term 1 for this year, I have 9 at this moment starting a night class 20th Feb Thursday night from 6.30 - 9pm they all vary. 2 K
